Our Story

Our story is one of nimble adaptation, great service to our clients, and professional collegiality.

Nimble Adaptation

Elarbee's roots are in traditional labor law – helping our clients fight (and usually win) union campaigns, negotiating contracts, and representing management in grievance and arbitration matters. The firm’s work on employment law matters, such as advising on and defending matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other claims, grew over time as our clients’ needs in these areas grew. Continuing to follow and meet the needs of clients, we have developed expertise in additional areas that augment our ability to be a resource to our clients.

We now offer a broad spectrum of services, including immigration and representation in complex litigation matters, in addition to continuing to provide advice and representation in traditional labor law, employment law, and benefits litigation. To meet our clients' requests for national representation, Elarbee is a member of the Worklaw Network – a stellar group of independent, management-side labor and employment law firms across the country. This affiliation serves our clients by allowing us to draw on local knowledge and resources to extend our reach and our expertise.

Great Service

The namesakes of our firm – Fred Elarbee, Bob Thompson, Lewis Sapp, and Stan Wilson – provided great service for the Firm’s clients. As excellent lawyers, they mentored the Firm’s current partners who continue to provide clients with excellent service and sophisticated legal work. Their examples of accessibility and responsiveness are hallmarks of our commitment to client service.

Professional Collegiality

Our collegiality starts with us. We are open door; we collaborate. This benefits our clients by getting that "gut check" on advice or by getting the expertise of one lawyer on a matter being principally handled by others.

We also pass it on. We are zealous advocates for our clients, but we exert that zeal in a professional manner. This creates good relationships with judges and agency officials, with opposing counsel, and with others we encounter in our work. This is also good for our clients, as these relationships set the stage for civil interactions even during intense litigation or negotiations.

We are a firm that adapts and develops to meet client needs. Our essential partners in this endeavor have been our clients – large or small, for-profit or not-for-profit. We seek to come alongside and learn from our clients as well as to advise them. The more we learn, the better we can provide guidance that takes into account the business and organizational realities of each client. We are open for business and we look forward to working with you!
